When a round loses momentum

Investor interest does not guarantee that a round will close.

A round can stall for several reasons. Investors may not see enough proof. The wrong investors may be in the process. The amount or valuation may be too ambitious. Or meetings and follow-up may simply lack pace and direction.

Treating every rejection as the same problem usually produces more meetings, not more progress.

Not every slow round needs a reset.

Before doing more outreach, we determine whether the process needs a stronger push or the case itself needs work.

THE ROUND NEEDS A PUSH

The case is strong enough, but the process needs greater reach, better timing, stronger follow-up or more experienced support.

THE ROUND NEEDS A RESET

Investor feedback points to a problem in the proof, reason for raising, round structure or investment case. Continuing unchanged is unlikely to solve it.

What changes

Move the round towards a decision.

We find what is stopping investors from moving forward. We address what can be fixed, focus on investors suited to the round and manage the next steps through terms, diligence and closing.

The goal is not simply more investor conversations. It is a clear path towards completing the round.

Is this the right starting point?

Fundraising Execution is likely the right starting point when

Your round is already underway. You have investor interest or part of the round in place, but need more investors, stronger follow-up or support through negotiations, diligence and closing.

Fundraising Preparation may be the better starting point when

The reason for raising is unclear, the proof or investment case needs work, or the company is not ready to approach investors properly.

What we do

From investor interest to a managed fundraising process.

Get the round back on track

We review the investor pipeline, feedback, amount, use of funds and proposed terms. We identify what is slowing the round down and decide what should continue, change or stop.

We then agree the plan, responsibilities and timetable for moving forward.

Reach the right investors

We define which investors fit the company and the round, prioritise them and manage outreach. We also make introductions when appropriate.

We agree the investor strategy, target profile and any exclusions with you before outreach begins. CapReady then manages the outreach process within that agreed mandate.

Run the process towards closing

We prepare investor meetings, manage the pipeline, follow up and coordinate investor discussions. As the round progresses, we support term sheets, negotiations, due diligence and closing.

The aim is to keep the right investors moving while the founders continue running the company.

Clear responsibility

Agree who does what before the work begins.

Fundraising Execution is covered by a separate agreement. We define the objective, responsibilities, timetable, reporting and commercial terms before starting.

CapReady can work alongside the founders or take responsibility for specific parts of the process. The company approves investor outreach, financing terms and all final decisions. Investors decide whether to invest.

We do not sell investor lists, isolated introductions or promised access. Those activities only make sense as part of the wider fundraising work.

Senior experience, directly involved

The partners do the work.

Jan Nilsson and Janne Kiiha remain directly involved throughout the mandate. There is no junior delivery team and no handover after the first meeting.

Frequently asked questions

Talk to us when a round is underway but not progressing as expected, when part of the round is in place but more investors are needed, or when the founders need experienced help with investor discussions, negotiations, diligence and closing.

The earlier we assess the situation, the more options remain. Waiting until the runway is nearly exhausted weakens both the process and the company’s choices.

Not necessarily. Some rounds need better targeting, timing and follow-up. Others have a problem in the proof, reason for raising, structure or investment case that must be fixed before further outreach.

We assess the situation before recommending whether to continue, reset part of the process or pause.

Investor outreach and introductions can form part of a Fundraising Execution mandate.

Before outreach begins, we agree the investor strategy, target profile and any specific exclusions or priority relationships with the company.

We can work alongside the founders or take responsibility for specific parts of the process. The agreement states what CapReady owns, what the company provides and how decisions are made.

Founders remain central to investor meetings and make all financing decisions. Fundraising cannot be handed over completely, but much of the work can be managed with less strain on the founders.

No. CapReady is not an investment fund and does not act as an investor. We work for the company as an advisory and execution partner.

No. Investors make their own decisions. We can improve the case, investor fit, preparation and execution. We do not guarantee funding, valuation, investor interest or timing.

If the case needs further work before more investors are approached, we will say so.

We agree the scope, responsibilities, timetable and commercial terms before work begins. The structure depends on the state of the round and the responsibility CapReady takes. There is no open-ended billable-hour engagement.
